The Hungry Woman:
A Mexican Medea

Cherrie Moraga's retelling of the Greek myth of Medea, the Hungry Woman reimagines the ancient tragedy (this time laden with Aztec mythos instead) set in a modern alternate timeline in which the US has balkanized through ethnic revolution. The subsequent regimes experienced counter revolution, thus exiling those who did not fit in with what they saw must be the true citizens of their new world. So Medea, her son and her lesbian lover Luna are exiled to what was once called Phoenix, AZ.
